Success Story: Anita Kendi — A Global Scholar in the Making

Anita Kendi, a 12th grader from BEADS Tembea High school, has earned a spot at the prestigious Yale Young Global Scholars Summer Program, an international academic experience hosted at Yale University. The YYGS will run three residential sessions at the university. She is purposed to attend the third session of the program that commences on July 20th to 1st August 2025.

Over 2,000 students from 150 countries including all the 50 U.S. states will participate in the program. This program aims to foster a vibrant, inclusive learning with a strong emphasis on global citizenship and leadership.

From her early school days in rural Kenya to standing on the global stage, Anita’s journey reflects tenacity, intellect, and heart. Her selection places her among future world changemakers, and it’s a moment of pride for BEADS, her mentors, and her community.

Through BEADS' mentorship, access to quality education, and personal empowerment, Anita discovered her voice and soared. Her story reminds us that with support and opportunity, girls can transcend boundaries and inspire the world.
